Westin Gaslamp
Completed in 2012, the interiors of the hotel's public spaces received a complete transformation, starting from the porte cochere and extending up to the 4th level terrace and ballroom. MDR Interiors reinvented the main lobby by creating volumetric open spaces, with direct lines of sight to registration pods, coffee shop, bar and restaurant. MDR Interiors provided all finishes, furniture, coordinated new lighting, artwork, key focal elements, and accessories. MDR was able to increase meeting space and add a business center to the hotel using under-performing interior spaces. The existing lobby stair was re-clad in wood panels and sculpted into a key lobby element. Pre-function areas along with breakout rooms, California and San Diego ballrooms, and Board Room also received dramatic facelifts.
