Sustainable Design

Since 1997, MDR has consistently integrated environmental and energy efficient benefits into site and building design solutions for its clients, both in the US and internationally.  As a member of the US Green Building Council, and formerly chairing the Orange County AIA Environmental Committee, MDR has remained committed to sustainable design principles.

Controlled daylighting, natural cross-ventilation, energy modeling, bio-filter site drainage, and cool roofs are examples of MDR design solutions implemented on past projects. With energy and construction material costs rising, MDR has designed projects to net-zero energy criteria, including photovoltaic and hot water systems. We furnish services to specify low-embodied energy materials which are sustainable and recyclable.

Mark Melzer, AIA LEED AP is LEED accredited and MDR has designed LEED equivalent projects internationally.

Bishopsgate Condominiums
Singapore

Located in one of the premier bungalow neighborhoods of Singapore, the Bishopsgate Residences shall offer a rare opportunity to own a Greenmark Platinum luxury property within the 39-unit enclave. Developed by internationally-acclaimed Kajima Overseas Asia, the exclusive Bishopsgate Residences are conceived to be comfortably elegant in stature, with similarities to Balinese-style bungalows that portray a timeless, welcoming expression.  Buildings are carefully sited to blend with existing terrain and surrounding secondary forest growth.  Architecturally, facades are based on a balanced use of natural materials, emphasizing timber, earth-toned plaster, and local stone.

With excellent proximity to Orchard Road, this resort-like enclave of prestigious residences will allow for a serene and calming sense of “home” both indoors and within the well-appointed public spaces.
