Restoration of the historic Biltmore Bowl was undertaken to re-create the original
grandeur of this famous ballroom.. Having hosted the Academy Awards and other famous
galas, the 800 person ballroom was completely gutted and the floor level modified.
A meticulous interiors program, including archival research, Cultural Affairs approvals,
and studies of the original detailing was part of the design effort to re-establish
the Biltmore Bowl as a pre-eminant venue in downtown Los Angeles.
A fast track construction effort over 6 months enabled the hotel to book events in
advance with minimal disruption to hotel operations. The renovation included elevators,
life-safety provisions, and state of the art audio-visual technology.
